Nick Cuomo | Aspiring Principal Resident, Pope John Paul II-Neponset
After completing his undergraduate degree at Providence College, Nick Cuomo began his teaching career with Notre Dame’s Alliance for Catholic Education. He served as a fifth grade teacher at Saint Ignatius Martyr Catholic School in Austin, Texas for three years. During his time in the classroom, he simultaneously completed a Masters of Education for Elementary Education through Notre Dame’s ACE program. While teaching at Saint Ignatius, Nick developed and integrated a 1:1 Laptop program providing students with cutting-edge technology to support student achievement. He would go on to lead several training sessions focusing on best practices using new technology. In 2013, Nick moved to Boston, MA to teach 7th Grade Math at Excel Academy Chelsea Charter School. As one of the founding teachers at Excel, Nick was responsible for designing and delivering a comprehensive math curriculum in accordance to the Common Core and PARCC. Nick has also gained invaluable experience as an instructional leader in numerous summer programs including the ACE Progam (IN) and Breakthrough Greater Boston (MA).
