Leldamy Correa | Aspiring Principal Fellow, Lawrence High School
Leldamy has been working for Lawrence Public Schools for over twelve years, ten of which were spent on the operations side of the school system in the Office of Assessment and Accountability and Facilities and Plant Management department involving student data analysis, staffing, budgeting, accounting and payroll among other operational duties. During the last 2 years she has begun to fulfill her passion of working directly with schools and students as the Student Re-engagement Manager for the district focusing on supporting the district’s goal of improving the graduation and dropout rate by developing, implementing and sustaining programs aimed at the re-engagement and retention of district students, reaching out to students who have withdrawn from school prior to obtaining a high school diploma/GED and advise of available educational options for re-engagement to Lawrence Public Schools or other community based programs. Additionally, as the Re-engagement Manager, Leldamy had the opportunity to work closely with at risk high school students while collaborating with school administrators on a regular basis to assess some of the challenges that might stand in the way of attaining their high school diploma, connecting students to support services that will help address these barriers. As of July 2015, she will be starting a new and exciting journey as an Academic Fellow at our brand new Abbott Lawrence Academy High School.
