Natasha Madhyani, MSF '16, is currently a Valuation Advisory Analyst for Duff & Phelps in Boston, MA.

While earning a bachelor’s degree in biology from Nova Southeastern University, Natasha Madhyani, MSF ‘16, planned to pursue medical school. But by her senior year, her plans changed. “Although I enjoyed the idea of becoming a physician, I realized my love of calculus and econometrics outweighed my desire to study the Krebs Cycle, or spend three hours in a lab analyzing Mitosis.”

Natasha explored different career options, and concluded that a master’s degree in finance was the best fit. “I specifically sought out Boston College because it offered the opportunity to study at an intellectually rigorous institution while living and working in a major financial hub.” Ultimately, it was Natasha’s campus visit and opportunity to speak with a current student that solidified her decision to apply to Boston College.

Natasha describes the most valuable part of her MSF experience to be the years of experience, diversity in professional backgrounds, and perspectives held by each of the professors she had the opportunity to learn from while at Boston College. “I know that no matter what challenges I take on, the classes I took and experiences I had in the BC MSF program have prepared me to lead without limits.”

During her time as a BC MSF student, Natasha was able to develop skills outside of the classroom by taking advantage of opportunities to get involved on campus. “As a MSF Representative of the Graduate Management Association, the Vice President of the Graduate Women in Business, and a member of the Graduate Finance Association, I was able to showcase my leadership skills and develop as a professional.”

Through the resources provided by the Office of Career Development, Natasha sought a career opportunity that would “enhance and polish my skills in the field, while having a solid work-life balance.” Natasha attended an employer information session with a representative from Duff & Phelps. She was able to make a connection with the company, and following multiple interviews, Natasha accepted an offer to become a Valuation Advisory Analyst in Boston.

Natasha credits her ability to secure a position with Duff & Phelps to the support offered by the Career Development team. Natasha looks forward to developing her career with Duff & Phelps, as well as the possible pursuit of an MBA in her future.
