New Book, Men Still at Work, by Elizabeth F. Fideler, Sloan Center Research Fellow

Men Still at Work, is forthcoming in February 2014 from Rowman & Littlefield. It's a 'sequel' to Women Still at Work (2012), which was selected by Booklist as one of the "Top 10 Business Books" in 2013.

Each book is based on extensive surveying and in-depth interviews of older professionals who are choosing to bypass retirement and stay on the job, set in the context of current economic uncertainties. Each book features fascinating profiles of highly independent seniors and closely examines their reasons for working. The new book on older men has the added feature of comparing the genders re bypassing retirement and staying in the work force. As you know, this is a timely and compelling subject! According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, women and men 65 and older are the two fastest-growing segments of the U.S. labor force.
