Over 40% of workers aged 58+ have physically demanding jobs or difficult working conditions

“In 2014, about 10.2 million workers ages 58 and older (43.8%) were employed either in physically demanding jobs or jobs with difficult working conditions,” according to a 2016 analysis of Current Population Survey data. “8.0 million workers ages 58 and older (34.5%) had physically demanding jobs, while 5.1 million workers ages 58 and older (22.1%) had jobs with difficult working conditions.”
