Philip Moeller, an award-winning business journalist, is an expert on aging, health, and retirement. His 2015 book on Social Security was on The New York Times bestseller lists for 25 consecutive weeks. His companion volume on Medicare was published by Simon & Schuster in 2016. He is now working on a third book about health care. Previously, he wrote “The Best Life” retirement blog for U.S. News and World Report and, in 2012, co-authored the U.S. News e-book “How to Live to 100.” Phil has worked for newspapers in Baltimore, Charlotte, Chicago, Hartford and Louisville. He also has been head of corporate communications for a Fortune 500 financial services company and is the founder of, a major consumer information website.
