Kevin M.

Availability: Mondays 4:30 - 6 pm; Wednesdays 4:30 - 6 pm; Sundays 6 - 7 pm

Kevin is a Junior at Boston College studying Economics. He is from Long Island, New York and has been swimming his entire life. He has been teaching swim lessons at BC for a year with experience in private, semi-private, and group lessons.

Rebecca R.

Availability: Sundays 3 - 7 pm

Rebecca is a senior at BC on the Pre-Medical track, studying Sociology. She swam competitively and recreationally before and during high school and got her lifeguard certification the summer before her freshman year at BC. She is looking forward to graduating and enrolling in a post-baccalaureate program before pursuing medical school applications. In her spare time on campus, she enjoys latin dance and is the Vice President of one of BC's two latin dance teams. They perform on campus and compete in BC's largest event for charities to promote social justice. Rebecca enjoys working with children as she has three younger siblings.

Jeff T.

Availability: Mondays 4:30 - 6 pm; Tuesdays 4:30 - 6:30 pm; Wednesdays 4:30 - 6 pm; Sundays 3 - 5 pm

Jeff is going into his senior year at Boston College and has been teaching swim lessons since he arrived at BC three years ago as a freshman. He is from Orange County, California and has been majoring in Political Science with a minor in Hispanic Studies. Throughout his time as an instructor at BC, Jeff has taught children of all ages, adults, private, semi-private and group lessons.

Emma F.

Availability: Tuesdays 5 - 6:30 pm; Wednesdays 4:30 - 6 pm; Thursdays 5 - 6:30 pm

Emma is a rising sophomore who is studying psychology, philosophy, and theater on th pre-med track. Emma swam on her varsity swim team for four years, specializing in the 100M butterfly and the 200M IM. She has been a lifeguard since age 16 at her high school pool, her community lake, and the Plex at BC. She loves children and adores teaching swim lessons both back home at her local lake and here at the Plex! She thinks knowing how to swim is a very valuable skill and is very passionate about teaching young children this skill.

Flora H.

Availability: Wednesdays 4:30 - 6 pm; Fridays 4:30 - 7 pm; Sundays 3 - 7 pm

Flora is a sophomore at Boston College studying biology. She has been swimming for the past 10 years and enjoys sharing her passion with swimmers of all ages. Over the summer, she coaches her summer swim team, teaching the younger kids how to swim and helping the older kids improve their stroke and technique.

Victor F.

Availability: Mondays 4:30 - 6 pm; Wednesdays 4:30 - 6 pm

Victor is a junior at BC studying economics and history. He's always loved to swim, but he began swimming on a team when he was in 9th grade. Unfortunately, his school had to shut down the swimming program due to lack of funding, so Victor bounced around local swim clubs for the rest of his time in high school. He's been lifeguarding at a local lake for the past four summers, and teaches free lessons for the town there. This is Victor's second year teaching lessons at BC and he can't wait to meet his new students.

Joshua M.

Availability: Tuesdays 4:30 - 5:30 pm; Wednesdays 4:30 - 6 pm; Thursdays 4:30 - 6 pm

Josh is a senior at Boston College studying Political Science, Music, and Education. He holds a YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor Certification and has been teaching lessons for the past 7 years. He has extensive experience working with and instructing all ages from small children to adults, as well as a background in competitive swimming and experience teaching children with special needs. He is experienced teaching stroke development, competitive swimming approaches, and water safety. Outside of the classroom and the pool, Josh is a passionate, musician, biker, and photographer.

Morgan F.

Availability: Fridays 4:30 - 7 pm; Saturdays 4:30 - 7 pm; Sundays 4:30 - 7 pm

Morgan is a Massachusetts native who began learning how to swim at the age of three. At the age of 12, she started diving and has loved it ever since. In high school she began working as a Swim & Dive Instructor as well as a Lifeguard.

Morgan is very friendly and outgoing. She is a patient and nurturing instructor who prefers to go at the students pace because that is how she believes skills are fully understood and remembered; however, she can be stern if needed because she wants students learn. She focuses on easing beginners fears and also refining more advanced swimmers’ skills. She hold an American Red Cross Lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR-AED Certification along with a certification as a Nursing Assistant.


Jacob W.

Availability: Tuesdays 4:30-7; Thursdays 5:30 - 7 pm; Fridays 4:30 - 7 pm; Sundays 3 - 7 pm

Jacob (Kuba) is a freshman at Boston College with an interest in Economics and Mathematics. He began competitively swimming when he was seven years old and continued through high school. Between the ages of 10-18, Kuba consistently qualified and swam at the New England Age Group Champs in various events. He has been a Red Cross certified lifeguard for four years and a certified WSI for two years. Kuba has taught swim lessons at Windsor Club in Waban, MA for the last two summers, in that time working with children and adults of all ages and skill levels. His connection with the BC pool started when he was 9 yrs. old and took swim lessons to improve his technique. It was after these lessons Kuba made his first New England Age Group Championships. Kuba is excited to teach swim lessons at BC and pass on his love for swimming.

Julia G.

Availability: Tuesdays 4:30 - 6 pm; Thursdays 4:30 - 6 pm

Julia is a sophomore majoring in Applied Psychology and Elementary Education in the Lynch School. She swam all her life and then competitively throughout high school earning the position of captain her senior year. During the summer time, she lifeguards and gives private swim lessons to children of all ages. She is excited to teach any child the importance of water safety and technique as these are important skills for all children to have.

Sarah H.

Availability: Tuesdays 4:30 - 7 pm; Saturdays 4:30 - 7 pm; Sundays 3 - 7 pm

Sarah is a sophomore at Boston College studying Applied Psychology and Theater. Growing up in a beach town in New Jersey, she has been swimming all her life. She took swim lessons for several years at a local swim school, where she eventually participated in competitive swimming classes. She has helped her four younger siblings learn to swim, among tutoring and babysitting them. She has spent the past few summers as a camp counselor where she assisted in swim lessons and hopes to work with children for a living one day. She is an outgoing person who enjoys the water as much as she enjoys working with others.

Robert M.

Availability (Diving Only): Mondays 4:30 - 5 pm; Tuesdays 4:30 - 5 pm; Wednesdays 4:30 - 5 pm; Thursdays 4:30 - 5 pm; Saturdays 4:30 - 7 pm; Sundays 3 - 7 pm 

Robert is currently a Senior at Boston College. He is a member of the diving team, and has been diving for over 10 years. From the Summers of 2014 to 2017 he was the head coach of a local summer diving team, (Black Rock Yacht Club) where he coached divers of skill levels ranging from beginner to intermediate. Last summer he taught at a local club team Charles River Diving (Cambridge). He is studying a double major in Economics and Communication. Robert looks forward to another semester teaching lessons.

Abaigeal D.

Availability: Fridays 4:30 - 7 pm; Sundays 3 - 7 pm

Abaigeal (Abbey) has been swimming all her life and truly loves the sport. She has been teaching swimming for over 10 years at the McLean Swim and Tennis Association in McLean, VA where she grew up. She swam competitively from the ages of 5 to the 18 and then coached that team for the next four years. She loves to share the joy of swimming with people of all ages. She is currently a first-year graduate student at the Boston College School of Social Work.
