Fall 2017 Sunday Group Lesson Instructors
Hi! My name is Despina Georgiadis and I am a freshman in the Morrissey College of Arts and Sciences at Boston College. I am studying Biology with intent on going to medical school and becoming a pediatrician. I love children which is shown through my past and present work experience. I have been a counselor in training at the Fessenden Day Camp since I was 13 and became a lifeguard and swim instructor my junior year of high school. The Gath Memorial Pool, in the city of Newton, is where I began working as a lifeguard and swim instructor. This job carried over to the Newton North Pool in the winter and spring. I currently work at the Gath Memorial Pool and pick up shifts at Boston College when available.
My swim experience started in the YMCA pool when I was five and has carried on until this day. I joined the Newton Bluefish Swim Team when I was nine and this summer is my ninth year swimming with them! I swam on my high school’s varsity swim team for three years and have enjoyed every minute of it. I not only love the water, but I love being a leader and inspiration to others!
Despina is certified as a lifeguard, water safety instructor, CPR, and babysitting.
