INTERNATIONAL ASSISTANTS BRING FUN AND COMMUNITY

This year’s International Assistants completed an intensive training in August, and welcomed in the international students for Boston College’s 2007-2008 School Year. Friendships were created among IA’s and international students at the OISS Orientation, where many participated in fun events such as a Boston Harbor Cruise and dinners out on the town.

Since then the IA’s have continued to offer their support and friendship by hosting dinner parties, taking tours of Boston, meeting up with international students for movie nights, sporting events, and more. In addition to their own small-group events, the IA’s are also leaders in hosting the OISS events including the Halloween Social, our upcoming Thanksgiving Dinner, and the Holiday Social in December.

Students had a blast at the Halloween Social, competing in a pumpkin carving contest, enjoying a buffet of sweets, and socializing. The event was great fun for everyone, and many international students and IA’s enjoyed wearing costumes and having a chance to catch up with old and new friends.

This year’s IA’s are doing a great making this a fun and successful experience for their fellow international students!
