What is Oracle Application Express?
Oracle Application Express, Oracle APEX, formerly HTML DB, is a rapid web application development tool for the Oracle database. Simply utilizing a web browser and limited programming experience, you can quickly develop and deploy professional applications. Application Express is a handy tool to build secure web-based applications in a conveniently web-based application development environment.
Where is Oracle Application Express being used at BC?
APEX is used across Boston College in over 30 departments to build and maintain database-driven applications on the web to provide customers with a very simple to use web-based environment. Some of these systems interface with the Data Warehouse as well as other environments like PeopleSoft HR, Financials, and FolderWave. Boston College ITS currently hosts over 100 APEX applications in the production environment for departments, including:

Who Manages the APEX Environment on Campus?
BC ITS Application Services manages the development, deployment and maintenance of the APEX environments.
