Faculty Seminar - Turkey, June 2015

The 2015 faculty seminar took place from June 1 to 10 and introduced participants to a wide array of aspects of Turkish, culture, history, politics, and religion. With stops in three locations - Istanbul, Izmir, and Cappadocia - faculty had an opportunity to explore a wide range of historical and religious sites, charity organizations, and Turkish universities, as well as meet with political and religious leaders, writers, journalists, and leading scholars. The seminar was led by Dr. Nick Gozik, Director of the Office of International Programs and the McGillycuddy-Logue Center for Undergraduate Global Studies.

The participants participated in two on-campus preparatory meetings during the spring 2015 semester, including a general orientation to the region and lecture given by an expert of Turkish politics.
