Commencement at Boston College
MONDAY, MAY 23, 2016
Chicago Archbishop Blase Joseph Cupich, leader of the country’s third-largest Catholic diocese and a champion for the economically and socially disenfranchised, will address the graduates at Boston College’s 139th annual Commencement Exercises on May 18.
University President William P. Leahy, S.J., will present Archbishop Cupich with an honorary Doctor of Laws degree at the ceremony. In addition, the University will present honorary degrees to: Sister Marie Chin, a mainstay of the Sisters of Mercy in Jamaica; Lynch School of Education alumnus Michael Motyl ’01, president of the Guadalupe Regional Middle School in Texas; executive, writer and motivational speaker Steve Pemberton ’89; and Lee Woodruff, journalist and best-selling author.
The 139th Commencement of Boston College will be held on Monday, May 18, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. in Alumni Stadium. Commencement Exercises are a two-part ceremony. The University Commencement (main ceremony) will start with a procession at 9:15 a.m. All graduates should be in assembly areas by 8:15 a.m. The academic procession into Alumni Stadium for the University Commencement will begin at 9:15 a.m. Family and guests should be seated by that time. This will be followed by individual School and College Diploma Ceremonies. All should be completed no later than 2:00 p.m.
Boston College Law School Commencement
