How we work

The career center is here to help you during your journey at Boston College and beyond. Our career development model—Explore, Prepare, Act—will help you recognize where you are and what steps you need to take to achieve your goals. Our staff will help you tap into resources that will equip you with the skills you need to make your next move, and to design your life and career.

We celebrate the diversity of our student body and appreciate that each student brings to us a unique background, life story, and set of interests, skills, and goals. We also recognize that each student goes through the career discernment and planning process at their own pace.

Our team works with Boston College partners and a large network of employers, alumni, parents, and friends to foster a community where students are supported throughout their career development.

Who we serve

We welcome all Boston College undergraduate and graduate students to access our online resources and attend our events.

We provide one-on-one coaching to students enrolled in the Morrissey College of Arts & Sciences, Connell School of Nursing, Lynch School of Education, Woods College of Advancing Studies, and School of Theology and Ministry.

Undergraduate students in the Carroll School of Management who are unsure of their career interests may also schedule an appointment with one of our career coaches.

Alumni within five years of graduation are also welcome to access our services, including coaching, events, and digital resources.

The following schools within Boston College have their own targeted career centers and resources for the students enrolled in their programs:

  • Carroll School of Management Graduate Career Development
  • Boston College Law School Career Center
  • School of Social Work Career Services
