Eagle Safety Escort Updated

In an effort to make the community more aware of the valuable services offered by the Boston College Police Department; the Boston College Eagle Escort Service, formally known as Eagle Trans has received a new, updated and identifiable look.

The Boston College Police has replaced its 2008 Dodge Caravan with a new 2013 Toyota Sienna minivan, which allows for more room, and all-wheel drive features. The new design exemplifies the mission of the Boston College Police Department, which works together with our community to create a safe and secure campus environment and by serving our community by providing professional police and public safety services 24 hours a day, every day of the year.

The Eagle Escort Service can now even be seen from all points on the Heights with its rooftop markings, as well as opportunities to link into the website and official social media pages of the Boston College Police Department via a Quick Response (QR) Code displayed on the vehicle. QR Codes were recently added to all BC Police vehicles to provide the community with direct access to and receive information from BCPD.

The Eagle Escort Service is available 24 hours a day and is provided to individuals who are concerned for their personal safety while traveling in and around campus. It is provided as a public safety service and is not intended as a substitute for public transportation, the BC shuttle or local taxi services. Eagle Escort operates seven days a week, except for school holidays/breaks of four of more days.

In addition to the vehicle escort, the Boston College Police Department offers a Walking Safety Escort Service. This service is provided between the hours of 8 pm and 3 am seven nights a week. Eagle Safety Escorts (walking) are used when the request is from one on-campus location to another on-campus location. These requests are completed by a pair of students, hired by the Boston College Police Department and are equipped with radio communications for immediate contact with police communications.

The Eagle Escort Service can be requested by calling (617) 552-8888.
