BC Marching Band

The “Screaming Eagles” Marching Band is the largest and most visible student organization at Boston College. Founded in 1919, the Band has traveled around the world to represent BC at football games, parades, and international celebrations. Membership is open to all Boston College students as well as students from area colleges and universities.

University Wind Ensemble

The mission of the University Wind Ensemble is to provide students the opportunity to perform the finest and most challenging wind and percussion literature. The typical member of the University Wind Ensemble is a highly skilled student for whom making music is a personal priority. The ensemble performs large ensemble literature for winds and percussion as well as chamber music. Members receive a small scholarship and free private lessons. Auditions take place at the start of the fall semester.


BC bOp!, the instrumental and vocal jazz ensemble of Boston College, performs great jazz in a big band setting on campus, throughout New England, and nationally. The ensemble is dedicated to achieving the highest levels of jazz performance. Over the years, BC bOp! has enjoyed competitive success at national jazz festivals. Membership is by audition.


The Symphonic Band, affectionately known as SymBa, is the largest concert ensemble at Boston College. Membership is open to the entire Boston College community and includes students, staff, alumni, and community members. The ensemble performs a variety of literature from traditional to contemporary wind band music. Summer opportunities include a performance at Boston's famed Hatch Shell. 

Pep Band

The Pep Band is open to all wind and percussion musicians. This ensemble is a great opportunity to support BC Men's Hockey and Men's and Women's Basketball. Travel to fun and exciting athletic events and NCAA tournaments like the Beanpot, ACC Tournaments, and the 2016 Frozen Four in Tampa, Florida!
