Robert Klein
Robert Klein entered the Boston gallery scene in 1978 while working as a photographer. In 1981 he opened his own gallery on Newbury Street, at the time one of five galleries showcasing photography exclusively. Today, Robert Klein's gallery is the only one of its kind, dedicated solely to photography, particularly focused on the historical perspective of the art.

Also the president of the Association of International Photography Art Dealers (AIPAD), Klein is known for his trained and highly trusted eye. He says, "I look for artists whom I believe are gifted with an original idea and have the tenacity and conviction to work exhaustively with the idea."
The gallery deals with established photographers of the 19th and 20th centuries including those photographers who are considered masters or whose works have received critical acclaim and recognition, such as: Gustave LeGray, Eadweard Muybridge, Berenice Abbott, Ansel Adams, Irving Penn, Brassai, Henri Cartier Bresson, Mario Giacomelli, Helen Levitt, Yousuf Karsh, Irving Penn, Man Ray, Alfred Stieglitz, Edward Weston, Charles Sheeler, and Walker Evans.
Mr. Klein will be at Boston College on April 28th to interview photographer, James Balog at "Inside the BC Studio". For further details please see /offices/artscouncil/festival/guests.html.
