2002 Readings
This year we will continue our work on the passion narratives and their use in the lectionary. We will first consider the Matthean lection that was produced from last year's discussion and then turn to the Gospel of Luke. It seemed god, if time permits, to also consider the readings from the Acts of Apostles that appear in the Easter season lections. For our third day, we will discuss the Pontifical Biblical Commission's latest study and a statement soon to be released by the Christian Scholars Group on Judaism and the Jewish People.
Some preparatory reading is suggested below. It is not meant to be exhaustive (or exhausting!), but to get the wheels turning.
