Baseball - Head Coach Richard "Moe" Maloney
Captained by seniors Bryan Manahan and Brian Sankey; finished annual Florida trip with a 6-3 record; early-season statistical leaders included Bryan Manahan, Craig Katz and Kevin Penwell at the plate.

Men's Basketball - Head Coach Jim O'Brien
Team finished with a 19-11 mark, earning a berth in the NCAA Tournament and advancing to the second round; defeated Indiana, 64-51, in the first round; Jim O'Brien earned BIG EAST Co-Coach of the Year honors; Danya Abrams earned All-BIG EAST first team honors, while James "Scoonie" Penn captured BIG EAST Rookie of the Year and ECAC Rookie of the Year accolades.

Women's Basketball - Head Coach Cathy Inglese
Team finished with a 10-17 record, including a 7-11 mark in BIG EAST play. Junior forward Holly Porter became the first BC player to score 1,000 points and record 600 rebounds before her senior season. Porter earned All-BIG EAST Second Team honors, while freshman guard Amanda West earned All-BIG EAST Rookie Team accolades.

Men's Cross Country - Head Coach Randy Thomas
Sixth-place showing at BIG EAST Championship highlighted by senior Chris Georgules' All-Conference performance (sixth-place); Georgules also earned third-place finishes at the Boston College Invitational and Maine's Murray Keatinge Invitational.

Women's Cross Country - Head Coach Randy Thomas
Team advanced to the NCAA Championship for the second consecutive season; Angie Graham's fifth-place finish helped team place fifth at ECAC Championship; Graham (seventh) and Amy Lyman (10th) earned All-Conference honors as team finished fourth at BIG EAST Championship.

Men's Fencing - Head Coach Syd Fadner
Finished first at the New England Collegiate Championships for the second straight year and qualified seven fencers for the 1996 NCAA Northeast Regional Championships, the most ever; senior John Peltonen finished 10th in the foil competition at Regionals, while senior Keun Ok placed 12th in the sabre.

Women's Fencing - Head Coach Syd Fadner
Led by freshman Leah Larsen, who won the silver medal at the New England Collegiate Championships; eight women qualified for the NCAA Northeast Regionals, including Larsen, who placed 22nd in the foil, and junior Cindy Tahlmore, who finished 23rd in the epee.

Field Hockey - Head Coach Sherren Granese
Posted its second consecutive 12-win season by going 12-7 and earning a national ranking as high as No. 12; after a 4-5 start, BC won a program-best eight consecutive games before losing to Rutgers in the season finale; placed four players on All-BIG EAST teams, including the conference's top scorer, sophomore Andrea Durko (first team); also included were senior Alexi Siglin (first team), junior Sarah Egnaczyk (second team) and sophomore Marion Fitzgerald (second team); Anne Marie Ambros became the school's first-ever BIG EAST Rookie of the Year honoree.

Football - Head Coach Dan Henning
The Eagles made their second appearance in the Kickoff Classic in 1995. Two top victories in '95 were a 20-14 victory over Sugar Bowl champion Virginia Tech at Blacksburg and a last-minute come-from-behind 41-38 win at Rutgers. The '95 Eagles appeared on national network television six times. OT Pete Kendall and NG Tim Morabito earned first team All-BIG EAST honors, while OG Mark Nori, WR Kenyatta Watson and CB Daryl Porter were selected for second team honors.

Men's Golf - Head Coach Peter Bigham
Steve Shunk earned All-New England honors by tying for seventh as team finished 15th at the New England Championship; Matt Stanchek finished seventh at the BIG EAST Championship, helping the team to a sixth-place showing; Dan Najarian finished second at the ECAC Northern New England Golf Qualifier as team finished fifth.

Women's Golf - Head Coach Natalie Galligan
Freshman Katie Shields finished eighth at 1995 ECAC Championship; Shields also earned Top 10 finishes at the Yale Invitational (tied for ninth) and the New Jersey Invitational (fifth).

Men's Ice Hockey - Head Coach Jerry York
Enjoyed its best season since 1990-91 by posting a 16-17-3 record, including a 12-10-2 mark in HOCKEY EAST play; senior co-captain David Hymovitz earned All-Conference honors and paced the team with 26 goals and 45 points, ending his career ranked 13th on the school's all-time career goal-scoring chart (72 goals) and 28th on the career point-scoring list (130 pts.); newcomer Marty Reasoner (16-29-45) became the fourth Eagle to earn HOCKEY EAST Rookie of the Year honors, while tying Hymovitz for the team scoring lead, becoming the first rookie to lead BC in scoring in 24 seasons; junior goaltender Greg Taylor set a league regular-season record when he made 61 saves in a 4-4 tie with Boston University; on the season, Taylor made 957 stops, the third-best single-season total in school history.

Women's Ice Hockey - Head Coach Tom O'Malley
Playing its second season as a varsity sport, Boston College finished with 9-16-2 record; seniors Tobin Dominick and Kristin Gray served as co-captains; freshman sensation Erin Magee established school marks for goals (39) and points (64) in a season, while tying the single-season assist standard (25); Magee's 64 points placed her third among ECAC Conference scoring leaders; the Eagles advanced to the Beanpot Championship game where they dropped a 4-3 overtime decision to Northeastern.

Men's Lacrosse - Head Coach Ed Moy
The Eagles (3-3) are off to their best start since 1994 despite a schedule that has featured three top-20 teams; offensively, sophomore attack Kevin McLane, a BC Athlete of the Week honoree (March 24), has led the way with 17 goals and 29 points in six games; fellow attacks Matt Prybylski (12 goals) and Matt Cooke (9 goals) have helped out on the offensive end, posting 16 and 15 points, respectively.

Women's Lacrosse - Head Coach Mary Ann Foley
The Eagles defeated St. Joseph's 18-9 to record their first victory of the season; the win also marked Coach MaryAnn Foley's first career victory; Tobin Dominick, Kelley McIntyre and Beth Signori serve as the team's tri-captains; junior goaltender Megan McElvogue was among the nation's leaders in save percentage.

Sailing - Head Coach Norm Reid
During the fall season, the team was ranked No. 4 in the nation by Sailing World magazine, BC's highest rating ever. The team also won its first Schell Trophy as New England sailing champions. Sophomore skippers Peter Spaulding, who qualified for the national laser-class championships, and Chris Murray are strong candidates to become BC's first-ever All America sailors. In the spring season, the Eagles are currently ranked third in the New England and No. 12 in the nation by Sailing World.

Men's Skiing - Head Coach Bill Toof
The men's team placed first at the USCSA Eastern Regional Championships en route to a fourth-place finish at the 1996 U.S. Collegiate Skiing Championships; sophomore John Kim earned All-America and All-Conference accolades.

Women's Skiing - Head Coach Bill Toof
The women's team finished third at the USCSA Eastern Regionals and seventh at the National Finals; freshman Amanda Daffer and senior captain Brooke Pearson both earned All-America and All-Conference honors (Pearson's third All-America award).

Men's Soccer - Head Coach Ed Kelly
Team finished with an 8-1-1 BIG EAST record, earning the conference regular-season title; finished with an 11-5-2 overall mark; senior Paul Keegan earned All-America honors for the second time and All-BIG EAST first team honors for the third time; senior Marc Bala and sophomore Anthony Buckley joined Keegan on the All-Conference first team, while junior back Tim Lavin captured All-Conference second team accolades.

Women's Soccer - Head Coach Terez Bonorden-Biancardi
Team finished with a 9-7-2 record, its fourth consecutive winning season; senior Jessica David and juniors April Parker and Jennifer Kelley earned All-BIG EAST Second Team honors; won the Harvard Invitational for the second straight year; Allison and Jessica David were selected to play in the New England Senior All-Star game.

Softball - Head Coach Jennifer Finley
Captained by seniors Kelly Cross, Kate Giardi and Liz Walker, the Eagles were under the direction of first-year head coach Jennifer Finley. Laura Thompson earned BIG EAST Player of the Week honors on March 25. Walker and junior Alexis Beckman remained one of the top pitching duos in the Northeast Region.

Men's Swimming & Diving - Head Coach Tom Groden
Posted a 2-9 record, including wins over Springfield College and Maine; placed seventh at the New England Championships; led by senior Scott Cornick, who notched seven team-best times, including four relay efforts; fellow senior Boris Jaskille recorded top times in three events.

Women's Swimming & Diving - Head Coach Tom Groden
Finished with an 11-3 record in dual-meet competition and placed third at the 1996 New England Championships; freshman Sara Guerena established four school records and became the first Eagle swimmer to qualify for NCAA competition since 1988 (in the 1650 freestyle); another freshman, Patty Schoenhaus, recorded a school record in the 200 backstroke.

Men's Tennis - Head Coach Mark Burns
Posted a 6-10 record, including a 2-1 mark in BIG EAST play; earned wins over conference foes Connecticut and Seton Hall; team has been led by senior Stephen Murray, a BC Athlete of the Week honoree (Feb. 11), who has played at No. 1 singles all season.

Women's Tennis - Head Coach Mark Burns
BC notched an 11-8 record on the season; the team went 6-0 on their Hawaiian tour, which included wins over Hawaii Pacific, Hawaii, Chaminade, Marquette, New Mexico State and Cal State-Fullerton; senior Hope McAndrew posted a 10-2 record in dual matches, splitting time at both No.1 and No. 2 singles; junior Shannon Byrne went 4-2 at first singles.

Men's Indoor Track - Head Coach Randy Thomas
Team tied for 16th at the NCAA Championship in Indianapolis; Mark McGehearty earned second-place honors in the 35-pound weight (68' 9") to earn the fourth All-America honor of his career; Sean McGehearty also earned All-America honors with a fourth-place effort (67' 6") in the same event; Mark also captured IC4A, BIG EAST and New England titles in the 35-pound weight throw; team earned second-place showing at New England Championships.

Women's Indoor Track - Head Coach Randy Thomas
Angie Graham (mile and distance medley relay), Jodie Lake (mile and distance medley relay), Amy Lyman (mile and distance medley relay) and Andrea Melton (distance medley relay) all qualified for the NCAA Championship; Graham, as well as the distance medley relay team, just missed All-America honors by finishing ninth in their respective events; team tied for second at the New England Championships with Graham (mile), Lyman (1000 meters) and Melton (55-meter hurdles) all claiming titles.

Volleyball - Head Coach Nadine Lilavois
Finished the season with 12-24 record; junior co-captain Deanna Herman, the team MVP for the second consecutive season, was the club's most consistent performer as she was named to the All-Tournament teams at the Eagle Classic, Georgia State Classic, ACC-BIG EAST Challenge and the Hofstra Invitational.

Water Polo - Head Coach G.T. Ladd
Led by All-Eastern Water Polo Association honoree Marcus Williams, the water polo team clinched a berth in the EWPA playoffs for the third-straight season; Williams, a senior co-captain, led the Eagles in goals (39), attempts (90), assists (13) and points (60); senior co-captain Brooke Higgins finished second on the team with 42 points; freshman Eric Malzone established a single-season steal record with 52.

Wrestling - Head Coach Rod Buttry
Eagles competed as part of the East Coast Wrestling Association (ECWA) for the first season; freshman Joe Dwyer posted a 17-11 individual record, tops on the team, including a 3-1 mark against foes from the ECWA; Dwyer, a conference wrestler of the week honoree (Jan. 29), won the 142-pound weight class at the 1996 Plymouth State Invitational, helping BC to a fourth-place team finish.
