CTP provided other first-gen students and me with a sense of belonging on campus by allowing us to foster meaningful relationships with the M&A staff and students. CTP is much more than a college program; it is a community where first-year students meet a second family on campus.

CTP is truly a family that serves as a support system and motivational network with your peers and  M&A faculty that strengthens our comfortability and confidence at BC as true family pioneers on the journey of accomplishing our goals.

I gained meaningful connections with not only my peers, but with wonderful mentors and resources.  I have the privilege of being a part of a wonderful community at M&A.

The CTP program gave me purpose amid adversity. I was able to meet other amazing first-generation students who truly understand what it means to be a trailblazer. I encourage any student who identifies as first gen to participate in the BC F1RST CTP program!

The CTP program granted me the opportunity to make meaningful and sincere connections with students and faculty that I can resonate with. Bonds such as these have not only made my career at Boston College enjoyable, but provided me with faith and motivation in accomplishing my goals.

By participating in CTP, I felt more prepared and supported as I transitioned into Boston College as a first-generation college student. The experiences, resources and connections I made in CTP have all contributed greatly towards my success.

What I found the most meaningful about CTP was interacting with other first-generation college students and building connections with faculty before arriving on the BC campus. It gave me a sense of belonging.

CTP allowed me to get a headstart at establishing connections with the help of peer mentors, advisors, newly found friends, and the staff of the M&A office.

CTP is a program that levels the playing field for those who come from disadvantaged backgrounds, it helps better prepare you for the college experience. For me, CTP gave me a space to participate among my peers without the fear of being left out because we all have similar experiences.

Participating in the CTP program allowed me to connect with fellow first generation students that facilitated my transition to BC. Above all, the program allowed me to connect with advisors that genuinely care and make it their mission to guide me through my endeavors inside and outside of the classroom.
