Goal Achievement for Everyone Certificate Online

Sometimes, in today’s world of information overload, anxiety, and competing priorities, we want to focus on goals that matter to us, with a sense of calm and anticipation. Effective goal achievement methods can do just that: help us identify what means most to us and channel our energy in the right direction, reducing distractions and anxiety. 

Join us for an introductory session that highlights the challenges and rewards of goal setting, as well as strategies for successfully setting your goal. You’ll also be able to register for a 4-week Goal Challenge to learn and practice specific strategies for achieving your goal. 

Receive a certificate for successful completion of the Goal Challenge … and learn to achieve your goals!

  • Online participants are required to have a computer with video and audio capability.
  • Participants must create a Zoom account in advance according to Boston College security requirements.
  • All programs offered online via Zoom will be delivered live and will not be recorded unless stated otherwise.

Introductory Session: Understand and Define Your Goal

Online via Zoom • Wednesday, April 20, 2022, 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm

Session Description:

How do you define your goal? How do you make adjustments to it, or build from one short-term goal to the next? How does your goal fit with the rest of your life? How do you avoid feelings of failure and overcome self-doubt when your goal involves change that may challenge you?

Conversations with Dr. Utzschneider and others in this session will help you answer these questions and learn to define and embrace your goals. Participants are encouraged to talk about their experiences and insights. The session will cover strategies for successful goal setting, especially defining the elusive goal.

Participants may also enroll in a short-term Goal Challenge, to take place in May 2022 following the introductory session, to learn about and implement goal achievement strategies.

Goal Challenge: Set and Achieve Your Goal

Challenge Description:

Take a step towards your future by learning the Goal Achievement for Everyone method online via Zoom!
In this program, you will experience the rewards and fun of setting even a small, short-term goal. Four weekly meetings will help you define your goal, manage obstacles, plan ahead, and provide feedback each week. You’ll also learn how and when to reset your goal. This simple, flexible, and inspiring method can be used to achieve any long-term goal, now or in the future.

The Goal Achievement for Everyone method has worked for all types of goals and all types of individuals. Join them, and learn to achieve your dream goal!

Learning Objectives:

1. Participants will describe how goal achievement is a holistic effort, involving others as well as all aspects of life.
2. Participants will understand and practice how defining the goal is critical to goal achievement.
3. Participants will learn goal achievement strategies, including how to identify and overcome obstacles.
4. Participants will learn how this process can be repeated to achieve long-term goals.

Goal Challenge Certificate Information:

To receive a certificate, participants must complete each of the four Goal Challenge sessions.

General Information:

You must be at least 18 years old to participate in the Goal Achievement for Everyone certificate program. All sales are final; we are not able to offer refunds. Registrations may not be transferred to another person or to another course, workshop, or program.

Online registration is required to participate in these sessions. Tuition is to be paid by debit or credit card. Registrations will be processed upon receipt of payment. Payment is due in full in order to enroll.

Getting to Campus

Parking is available at the nearby Beacon Street and Commonwealth Avenue Garages. Discounted parking passes are available upon registration.

Boston College is also accessible via public transportation (MBTA B Line - Boston College).
