Summer at STM

Every year, more than 200 lay and ordained students from all over the world come together to form our lively summer study community. This continues our 50-year tradition of providing high-quality summer education.

We offer an array of courses that you can use toward a degree program or take for personal or professional development. Select from morning and evening three-credit classes that occur over three-week sessions, and a variety of one-credit options that take place over a one-week period.

Liturgy and Lunch

Every Wednesday during the summer, our community gathers for liturgy and lunch, a time to worship and bond over our shared faith.

Tasty Tuesdays

Greet the morning with coffee and pastries each Tuesday with your fellow students and STM faculty and staff. Tasty Tuesdays provide a great opportunity to connect with the community and ask questions.

The Theology and Ministry Library—with a 300,000-volume collection covering biblical studies, Catholic theology, canon law, Jesuitica, and other topics—supports the STM community’s research, teaching, and learning.

Daily Worship

Our diverse community comes together not only in the classroom, but also to pray and reflect during daily Mass and student-led prayer services.  Daily worship is celebrated at 12:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday during both summer sessions. Students are invited to participate in liturgical ministries, including lectors, ministers of Holy Communion, Eucharistic Bread bakers, acolytes, and music ministers.
