Marian St. Onge is Director of Boston College’s Center of International Partnerships and Programs (CIPP), where she coordinates University-wide international activities, with special attention to more than 40 institutional partnerships around the world. She also teaches a Capstone course on travel literature to international students and seniors who have studied abroad. Prior to her position as CIPP Director, she coordinated French language programs, developed new curricula in French business and culture, piloted international internship exchange programs, and directed the Women’s Studies Program.
After graduating from the University of Colorado, she resided in England for two years while working as a fashion advertising representative for two London newspapers. She earned her M.A. and Ph.D. in French Literature from Boston College.
A former president of the Massachusetts Foreign Language Association, St. Onge has been the recipient of several fellowships and awards, and has lectured and published on women writers and topics in international education and culture studies. Her most recent essay, “Tragic Optimism in the Balkans: A Poet’s View of the Recent War Years,” appeared in “The International Journal of Politics, Culture and Society.”
