Dissertation Fellowship

Boston College’s African and African Diaspora Studies Program (AADS) is proud to announce the inaugural year of its dissertation fellowship competition. Scholars working in any discipline in the Humanities or Social Sciences with projects focusing on any topic within African and/or African Diaspora Studies are eligible. We seek applicants pursuing innovative, preferably comparative, projects in dialogue with critical issues and trends within the field.

Amanda V. Houston Traveling Fellowship

This fellowship, named for the founding Director of African & African Diaspora Studies at Boston College is designed to enable a student majoring or minoring in African & African Diaspora Studies to enhance their education through a summer or a semester of international study and travel. The award's purpose is to encourage this very important aspect of developing African American leadership.

Martin Luther King Scholarship Opportunity

The Martin Luther Scholarship is awarded to an academically accomplished BC junior who has been actively involved in community service and other activities addressing African-American issues, diversity and social justice both on and off campus.
