Profile

Dave currently teaches at Boston College. He is the retired president of Cotting School (2004-2021). Previously, he was the president of COMPASS in Boston (1984-2004).

He is currently a board member for the following organizations: Cathedral High School (Boston), Holy Cross High School (Waterbury, CT), COMPASS, Haley House, Peabody Foundation and Pine Street Inn. He is on the advisory council for New Voices of Raleigh, NC.

He is the past-president of Massachusetts Association of 766- Approved Private Schools (MAAPS). He also served as board chair for the Children’s League of Massachusetts, Haley House and Pine Street Inn. He previously served as a board member with: Brandon Residential Treatment Center, The Children’s League of Massachusetts, Protestant Guild for Human Services, Roxbury Latin School and Victory Programs as well as a member of the Education Committee for Perkins School for the Blind. Manzo previously served as a visiting team chair for the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) and as a corporate member for Perkins School for the Blind.

Manzo’s interests include: urban issues, special education, non-profit leadership. In 2008 he co-authored Cotting School: A Pictorial History, which was published by Arcadia. He has also written a series of articles on sea kayaking. His most recent article chronicled his paddling trip from Rhode Island to New Jersey. To the dismay of his friends in Boston, he is a life-long New York Yankees fan.
