BC Writing Center
The Writing Center is currently open for the Spring 2021 Semester. You can still schedule an appointment online.
A confirmation email will be sent to you about meeting virtually with a Writing Specialist.
If you have questions, please email writingcenter@bc.edu.
The BC Writing Center offers support to undergraduate student writers in all disciplines. Writing is a process that can include brainstorming, research or note taking, composing, revising, editing and proofreading. Our Writing Specialists are undergraduate English majors and trained readers who can help students through this process by asking questions, helping the writer set a goal for the session, and offer suggestions and strategies for drafting or revising. If you would like to discuss your work with one of our Writing Specialists, please schedule an appointment.
Appointments are scheduled for fifty minutes and will be held virtually through our schedule. Please bring the assignment prompt or description to the appointment, along with any notes and drafts you have. If you want feedback on a written draft, you should bring a hard copy of it to the appointment. We don’t have a printer in the Writing Center.
English Language Learners (ELL) and Multilingual Writers: if your first language is something other than English, we encourage you to schedule an appointment with one of our ELL Writing Specialists. In addition to providing formative feedback on ideas and organization, they are trained to discuss the English grammatical issues that multilingual writers find challenging. Schedule an appointment with an ELL Writing Specialist. See our FAQ below for current ELL Writing Specialists.
For questions or concerns, you can email writingcenter@bc.edu.
