A specialist in early modern English poetry and drama, Professor Crow is currently completing their monograph Austerity Measures: The Poetics of Hunger in Early Modern English Literature, which traces the relationship between food scarcity and poetic form in sixteenth- and seventeenth-century Anglophone literature. Professor Crow's research interests include food history, gender and sexuality studies, the intersection of England and the Arab world, and academic labor and the future of the university. Their work has appeared or is forthcoming in Christianity and Literature, Early Modern Women, English Literary History, Shakespeare Quarterly, and SEL Studies in English Literature 1500-1900 as well as the edited collections Women Mobilizing Memory (Columbia UP, 2019) and In the Kitchen 1550-1800: English Cooking at Home and Abroad (Amsterdam UP, forthcoming).
