Boston Architectural Center: Visual Resources Assistant
The BAC seeks a part-time (15 hours per week) Visual Resources Assistant. Responsibilities include scanning and post-processing images using Photoshop, image research, cataloging images, and managing images in Artstor. If you are detail-oriented and have a background in art and/or architectural history, this is the job for you!

High Output: Rental Shop Technician
New England's premier film lighting company, located in Canton, MA, seeks graduating Film students who are interested in getting hands-on experience with Film/TV/Special Events equipment. This position offers opportunities to meet and work with prominent members of the industry. Responsibilities include the preparation and maintenance of lighting, grip, theatrical and AV rental equipment in a warehouse environment. Applicants should be well-organized, motivated, dependable, flexible, and capable of some heavy lifting (the physical kind); knowledge of entertainment lighting or media production is helpful. Prospective employees work on a freelance basis for a period of time prior to being offered full-time employment.

Sync-On-Set: Various entry-level positions
This Los Angeles-based Emmy Award-winning tech startup company was founded by BC graduates. These entry-level positions in customer support and sales in a TV/film industry-related company offer an opportunity for graduating students seeking an entrée to those industries. Archival Intern, Alexander Gray Associates
Are you a recent grad living in New York City? This Chelsea Gallery is offering a PAID ($11/hour) fall internship. The position is full-time and promises a hands-on introduction to gallery work with a focus on archiving and cataloging, but also includes interfacing with artists and the public and assisting with exhibition installations.

Teach a course for B.C. Splash!
BC Splash takes place on Sunday, November 5th this fall. The program aims to broaden the academic horizons of high school students by offering a wide variety of courses taught by BC students. You're invited to submit your proposal (on any topic) for a one-hour class, which you can teach along with a friend if you'd like. Sign-up deadline October 6.

Visual Culture Consortium: Tenth Undergraduate Art History Symposium
The VCC of Boston will be hosting its annual Undergraduate Art History Symposium at the Museum of Fine Arts on Saturday, April 14, 2018. This is a great opportunity to get experience presenting your work in a professional setting! Art History and Visual Culture topics will be considered. Students whose proposals are accepted will present a 15-minute paper. The deadline to submit your proposal in the form of a 250-word abstract is January 26, 2018.

NOTE: You’re required to work with a faculty sponsor from B.C., whose name must be supplied along with your abstract.

Hispanic Heritage Month Exhibition
In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, AHANA will be hosting outside its office (Maloney 455) an exhibition of two-dimensional visual work relating to Hispanic or Latino culture. Contact Pattric Davis at davispl@bc.edu if you're interested in having your work included in this show.

Kaleidoscope: The International Journal of Boston College
This journal publishes photo as well as text essays. Submit work on any topic relating to international relations, cultures, and history – including personal cultural experiences – by September 15 for it to be considered for publication in the Fall 2017 issue.

Boston Accent Lit
This online literary journal, published six times a year, showcases innovative and daring work and provides a platform for underrepresented voices. Submissions are accepted on a rolling basis; Michael Rose (whose work you may know from Big Red & Shiny) is the Art Editor.

The Walter Feldman Fellowship for Emerging Artists
This fellowship, administered by the Arts & Business Council of Boston, supports the careers of emerging artists through the experience of a solo exhibition, curatorial support, and professional development including expert counsel in marketing and business skills. The Fellowship is open to artists working in two-dimensional media (excluding photography) who have yet to have their first solo exhibition, are based in New England, and are under the age of 40 as of the application deadline. Two artists will be selected as 2018 Fellows. Submission deadline October 20th. NOTE: there's a $15 submission fee.

The Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation
This foundation awards emerging artists working in a representational style of painting, drawing, sculpture or printmaking grants of $15,000 Canadian dollars for artistic development. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.

Boston Cultural Council Opportunity Fund
Each month (except October and April), the BCC accepts applications for this fund, which provides grants of up to $1,000 to assist individual artists with specific needs – for example, materials or professional development costs/conference fees. The application period starts on the first of the month and closes on the 15th of the month.

The Awesome Foundation
Yes, this is an actual thing! Do you have an idea for an awesome project that just needs a bit of funding to become a reality? Each month, the Boston chapter of the Awesome Foundation awards two $1,000 micro-grants to projects that will result in "that intangible combination of impact, surprise, and joy."

Jacques Salmanowitz Program Grants
$1,500 grants for students pursuing social justice documentary film projects during spring break and this coming summer. Students who have no filming experience may team up with a film student. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Application form
