CIHE has an extensive international network. This page provides information and links to a select group of partners with whom the Center sustains particularly close relationships.

The Global Centers for International Higher Education Studies (GC-IHES) is a network of key research centers that have been longstanding partners of CIHE. Centers participating in GC-IHES include:

Individually and collectively, these six centers work to further develop the global knowledge base in relation to international and comparative higher education.

The International Network for Higher Education in Africa (INHEA) was established in 2003. The Network is intended for scholars, experts, practitioners, policy makers, funders, students, and others engaged in research and development focused on Africa. This resource has an important role to play in organizing and making sense of emerging developments.

INHEA is jointly hosted by the Boston College Center for International Higher Education and Higher Education Training and Development, University of Kwazulu-Natal under the leadership of its founding director, Professor Damtew Teferra.

The work undertaken by INHEA is supported by generous funds from the Carnegie corporation.

The Cross-Border Education Research Team (C-BERT) studies the exportation of educational programs across geopolitical borders from organizational, sociological, economic, and political perspectives. C-BERT concentrates on instances of physical cross-border teaching and research activities. These broad interests inform more specific inquiries into regulation, accountability, quality assurance, institutional legitimacy, patterns of growth, and institutional failures, among other topics. C-BERT's mission is to advance understanding of these issues through the discovery, analysis, and dissemination of knowledge. In turn, this research aims to inform institutional development as well as public policy and discussion.
C-BERT is housed at SUNY Albany, where it was co-founded in 2010 by Kevin Kinser and Jason Lane.
