Dear members of the BC Law community:

The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the general economy during the past few weeks has been significant, and we recognize that there will be many changes to the legal market and legal recruiting landscape over the coming months.

After careful consideration, we have decided that BC Law’s Summer On-Campus Interview (OCI) program, and all affiliated BC Law led off-campus programs, will be rescheduled to early in the 2021 Spring Semester. The Career Services Office will work out the specific timing and complex logistics of this change and share more information as it becomes available. Based on the current situation and uncertainty in the market, we believe this timing will allow employers the opportunity to evaluate their hiring needs and allow our students to be competitive with peer schools for summer and post-grad positions.

I am confident that this move is in alignment with current market trends among law schools and legal employers who traditionally participate in OCI. Nearly all the T-14 schools, and many in the top 50, have already rescheduled.

I hope you and your loved ones are well during these challenging times. If you have any questions about this decision or regarding your own particular employment situation, please make an appointment with a CSO Advisor.

Sincerely,

Vincent Rougeau
