Dear members of the BC Law community:

As tomorrow’s election nears, I know that many of you are feeling high levels of anxiety and concern about an increasingly divided country. While we await the results, members of the BC Law faculty have graciously agreed to host online Zoom gatherings for our community.

There is no formal agenda or program for these meetings; they are simply meant to offer a place for everyone to come together for discussion and support. I would like to stress that all are welcome. You may join for as little or long as you like.

I want to let you know how proud I am of all that you’ve done to keep our democracy strong. Recently, you’ve helped others register to vote, volunteered for Project Citizenship and other social justice organizations, hosted incredible programming and panels on important election topics, and much more. Our democracy depends on high participation and informed, lively discussions of issues, and it is central to our mission here at BC Law. Thank you for your engagement and civility during these trying times.

Sincerely,
Vincent Rougeau
