Biography

Karen Dexter, Esq., LICSW is a licensed attorney with over 20 years of experience working within the Massachusetts child welfare and mental health system. She is an adjunct professor at the Boston College School of Social Work and her clinical background is with children and families. Karen received her master’s degree in social work from Boston University and her J.D. from Suffolk University Law School. She also assisted in the Development of the 2018 MA Olmstead Plan, which aims to enhance opportunities, accessible housing, community services, and support to people with disabilities in Massachusetts. Her particular areas of interest include domestic violence, child custody, and social welfare policy issues impacting children and families.
