Greg Sheehan is a retired partner at Ropes & Gray, LLP in Boston, Massachusetts, having completed an almost 40 year tenure at the firm in December, 2020. At Ropes & Gray, Greg practiced in the Investment management area, representing investment companies, their boards, investment advisers, hedge funds and private fund sponsors in business and regulatory matters. He was a member of the firm's Policy Committee (management committee) from 2009 to 2019 and was chair of the firm's Investment Management group from 2001 to 2009. Greg received the Independent Legal Counsel of the Year Award at the 2014 Mutual Funds Awards Dinner in New York on March 27, 2014. Greg was a member of the Advisory Board of BoardIQ from 2008 to 2017.
At Boston College Law School, Greg is designing a course entitled “Foundations of Asset Management Law and Regulation” that is intended to give students a broad overview of the key legal and regulatory principles that govern the asset management industry in the United States.
