Fifth-Year MSA/MSF for Current BC Undergraduates

Boston College undergraduates currently in the second semester of their junior year or in the first semester of their senior year are eligible to apply to the Master of Science in Accounting or the Master of Science in Finance programs as fifth-year applicants. Once enrolled, students can complete their MSA or MSF degree in nine months from the program start date.

If you are a BC undergraduate applicant, you are eligible to apply through a streamlined Fifth-Year application process, where you are not required to submit a letter of recommendation, GMAT or GRE test score*, or a $100 application fee.

*Please note: Upon admission, you are guaranteed 1 course (3 credits) in merit-based funding. In order to be considered for any additional funding, you must submit a valid GMAT or GRE score with your application materials.

Application Deadlines

Apply by the following deadlines to begin your MSA or MSF in Fall 2020:

Priority deadline: June 3, 2019 (receive an admission notification by July 1, 2019)
Round 2 deadline
: December 2, 2019 (receive an admission notification by January 6, 2020)

Application Checklist

Complete the online Fifth-Year application:

  • Upload a 500-word essay indicating your present reasons for seeking the master’s degree, detailing your short-term and long-term professional career goals, and explaining how you think the BC MSA or MSF program will help you achieve these goals.
  • Upload a copy of your current resume.
  • Request an official transcript from Lyons Hall to be sent to the Carroll School of Management Office of Graduate Admissions; please make sure to request your transcript only after your final junior year grades have been posted.
