At its meeting in 1982, SCOSTEP established an Awards program with two types of awards. "Honorary Members" are persons who made invaluable contributions to the entire STP community, selected by the Bureau. The second type was in recognition of the prime movers (organizers and coordinators) of scientific programs within SCOSTEP and for special services to the STP community and are selected by the Awards Committee. Since 2013, SCOSTEP recognizes the efforts and achievements in Solar-Terrestrial Physics with three biennial awards.
