Wild Eagles Update:
Our top priority continues to be the health, safety and wellness of all Wild Eagle participants, Outdoor Adventure staff and the BC community. With this in mind, we have decided not to run the Wild Eagles program this August 2020. We have been monitoring the CDC (Center for Disease Control) and Covid 19 state guidelines for reopening, physical distancing and travel for the states we use for the Wild Eagles programs. At this time many of the New England states we travel to still have self quarantining guidelines in place and the state agencies we work with for permitting are closed, just reopening or are backed logged so we are not able to receive proper permits for the Wild Eagles Program. Many of the physical distancing and sterilization guidelines for equipment, vehicles and persons make it extremely difficult to provide a safe and fun environment for our participants.
We are currently examining alternative programs we can run during the academic year for students who were interested in participating in Wild Eagles. Once we are provided more information as the states move forward with reopening plans and guidelines we will try to design that programming. All of our update information will be provided here or please email us and we will add you to a Wild Eagles mailing list.
Wild Eagles is an adventure program for incoming freshmen and transfer students (trips are separate). The goals of the program are to foster community, connectedness, and personal growth in a fun wilderness environment. Students will be part of a group and will have the chance to form friendships and join a community before starting classes.
We have found that one of the best predictors of success in college is the ability to connect with others and form a community. Small groups are key to this process. Our groups are typically 6-8 freshmen and 2-3 upperclass students. While building community is important, Wild Eagles is FUN! Paddling through rapids, scaling craggy cliffs, immersing yourself in the sights and sounds of nature with a group of like-minded students is one of the best chances you will have to unplug and get away from it all. All of our trips are designed for beginners, as well as avid adventurers. These trips are designed to be fun, yet challenging.
“I wanted authentic, laid back, fun, adventurous friends. I found those people in Wild Eagles.”

Why join?
Wild Eagles gives new students the opportunity to curb nerves about making new friends and form unique bonds that they can take into the first year at BC and beyond. Our trips help you get to know two or more upperclassmen who can provide insights on what to expect at Boston College.
