The Margot Connell Recreation Center redefines the future of fitness and recreation at Boston College. The 244,000 square-foot, four-story structure off St. Thomas More Road offers our community an inspired space to play, pursue sports, gather with friends and work out.

This facility includes a fitness center, rock climbing wall, jogging track, aquatics center, wood-floor basketball courts, tennis courts, multi-activity courts, multi-purpose rooms for spin, yoga, and fitness classes, and more.

Fit. Active. Well.

The center is named in honor one of BC’s most generous benefactors, whose civic and philanthropic endeavors have made her a role model for BC students. A trustee associate, honorary degree recipient, mother of six—all of whom are BC graduates—and the grandmother of 17, Margot Connell has been described by University President William P. Leahy, S.J., as a “matriarch of the BC community.”

Margot was inspired to create an outlet for students engaged in the rigorous demands of a Boston College education. An avid golfer and sports enthusiast, she has observed many of Boston College’s most memorable sports moments alongside her late husband and children.
