Dr. Egmont has focused on the human needs and social services of newcomer communities, immigrant rights, and the complex dynamic two-way process of immigrant integration. Other areas of expertise include migration and human trafficking. He has also Co-Chaired the Governor's Advisory Council on Immigrants and Refugees, serving six governors. Dr. Egmont has addressed conferences from Metropolis International to the National Immigrant Integration Conference, from Catholic Charities USA to the Conference of US Mayors. He is creator and curator of Dreams of Freedom, Boston’s immigration history exhibit. He has appeared on CNN along with a number of local television and radio outlets. His expertise has also been utilized by the Wall Street Journal, the Associated PressReuters, and the Boston Globe, among other entities.
