Régine Michelle Jean-Charles is an associate professor of Romance Languages and Literatures and African and African Diaspora Studies where she teaches classes on francophone literature, black feminisms, African film, and Haitian Studies. Her first book Conflict Bodies: The Politics of Rape Representation in the Francophone Imaginary was published in 2014. She is the author of numerous articles that have appeared in peer-reviewed journals such as The Journal of Haitian Studies, American Quarterly, Callaloo, French Forum, Journal of Romance Studies, Research in African Literatures, and Small Axe as well as book chapters in edited volumes. Her current book project rethinks Haitian diasporic cultural production by bringing together performance studies, gender studies, and visual culture.
