Allston Brighton Community Supper

In 1974, members of the Brighton-Allston Congregational Church UCC recognized the problem of hunger in the community and began distributing food baskets at Thanksgiving and Christmas. As a result, those in need made more frequent visits to the Church requesting food and other forms of assistance. To satisfy this community-wide need, the Allston Brighton Food Pantry was created, with the Community Supper program following two years later. The Allston-Brighton Food Pantry provides hot and nutritious meals enjoyed by both guests and volunteers. This placement is a 20 minute walk from campus The group will leave BC at 5:10 p.m. each week. We’re dedicated to maintaining a welcoming atmosphere respectful to all community members without regard to race, religion, social position, ethnicity, gender, age or sexual orientation.
