Dear Class of 2024:

As always, we are committed to a year of learning, service, and community. Join us!

In FYSP, you will find conversation partners, mentors, and friends while discussing timely topics. While we cannot begin the year in direct service we will have:

 • Weekly presentations and conversations about service, justice, civic engagement, and more..
 • Every other week, we will focus on first year discussion - making friends, living with a roommate, getting involved at BC, and other topics that matter to you.
 • Each weekly conversation will be with other members of the class of 2024 and upperclass leaders.

For the health and safety of everyone involved, particularly those who are most vulnerable in our local community, members of FYSP will not begin the year in direct service. However, we are still committed to our partners and as opportunities to serve, remotely or in-person become possible, we will connect you to those opportunities. In the meantime, below you can learn more about the great work of our partner organizations.

Please check back for dates and times of September information sessions.

Allston Brighton Community Supper

In 1974, members of the Brighton-Allston Congregational Church UCC recognized the problem of hunger in the community and began distributing food baskets at Thanksgiving and Christmas. As a result, those in need made more frequent visits to the Church requesting food and other forms of assistance. To satisfy this community-wide need, the Allston Brighton Food Pantry was created, with the Community Supper program following two years later. The Allston-Brighton Food Pantry provides hot and nutritious meals enjoyed by both guests and volunteers. This placement is a 20 minute walk from campus The group will leave BC at 5:10 p.m. each week.
