Orientation Parent Program

Program Schedule

July 1 - 9: Welcome to Boston College!

Welcome to the Parent & Guardian Orientation Program!

The Office of First Year Experience is thrilled to guide you through a three week virtual program designed to support the adjustment process that occurs when a student leaves home for college and to familiarize parents and guardians with the resources that are available within the Boston College community.

To begin, we invite you to first view a brief welcome video featuring Ali Bane Hammond, the Director of the Office of First Year Experience and Michael Sacco, the Executive Director of Center for Student Formation & Office of First Year Experience, which will provide an overview of the Orientation program.

In this first week or so of the program, there will be three webinars that will provide you with an informative welcome to Boston College. First, on Thursday July 1st,  a few members of the University’s senior leadership team will welcome you and your family to the Boston College community and review the Fall semester opening plans. Following the Fourth of July holiday, we will host a webinar featuring Lynch School of Education and Human Development Professor Belle Liang, who will share research and expertise on the ways parents can help their students discover pathways to their purpose in college and beyond. Finally, on Friday July 9th, we will host an important conversation on health and wellness within our campus community that will cover the University’s holistic approach to caring for our students.

We encourage you to attend the webinars listed below or to view the recordings after they are posted to our Orientation Video Library.
