Orientation Parent Program

Program Schedule

Welcome to the Parent & Guardian Orientation Program!

The Office of First Year Experience is thrilled to guide you through a three week virtual program designed to support the adjustment process that occurs when a student leaves home for college and to familiarize parents and guardians with the resources that are available within the Boston College community.

To begin, we invite you to first view a brief welcome video featuring Ali Bane Hammond, the Director of the Office of First Year Experience and Michael Sacco, the Executive Director of Center for Student Formation & Office of First Year Experience, which will provide an overview of the Orientation program.

This first week, focused on the theme of Academics & Student Support, is designed to provide an introduction to the intellectual dimension of your student’s college experience, including an opportunity to hear from the Associate Deans of each of the four undergraduate schools. On Monday, we will also be hosting a webinar with three members of the University’s senior leadership team to welcome you and your family to the Boston College community and review the Fall semester opening plans. Finally, the week will end with a conversation on health and wellness on campus, that will cover the University’s holistic approach to caring for our students.

We encourage you to attend the webinars listed below or to view the recordings after they are posted to our Orientation Video Library.
