Introductory Workshop

Design thinking refers to strategies and processes traditionally used to develop new products and designs. Design thinking’s focus on user needs had made it a popular technique for problem-solving outside of the realm of traditional design. Problems are tackled deliberately, in a step-by-step manner that reveals the creativity in everyone.

In an introductory workshop you learn design thinking through working through the process in addressing either your own team challenge or a realistic scenario involving a strategic challenge at a university. You emerge as a team with actionable ideas that could be implemented. This highly-interactive workshop will give participants a foundational understanding of design thinking techniques and introduce new methods for collaboratively solving problems.

Introductory workshops are typically held over a three-hour in-person workshop or two 2-hour virtual sessions. They work well for groups of 3 or more.

Customized Challenge-Specific Workshops

In customized challenge-specific workshops, we take your team, and any additional stakeholders you want to include, through the design thinking process to get towards innovative solutions rooted in empathy and understanding the deeper needs of your stakeholders.

Trying to determine if your challenge is a good fit for design thinking? Design thinking could be valuable if:

  • You have a messy challenge and you’re open to creative solutions
  • Your challenge is unique and doesn't have a proven solution
  • You’re not sure you’re trying to solve the right problem
