The GPHCG program has been an incredible and formative part of Jenna’s college experience. By offering classes from a variety of disciplines, the program has shown that global public health is a vibrant, interdisciplinary field. Furthermore, GPHCG professors have inspired Jenna to think about how she can transform her newfound knowledge into solutions in the real world. Jenna has come to realize that global public health and service not only overlap, but are intrinsically intertwined. Jenna’s interest in global public health and service inspired her to apply for the Truman Scholarship. With the scholarship, she hopes to obtain a DMD and MPH degree with the overall goal of advocating for health equity by treating patients and writing policies.
