Naomi Alter is a senior pursing an independent major in Global Public Health and the Common Good. She became interested in studying public health during the first semester of her freshman year while taking an enduring questions course focused on the economic and political aspects of healthcare. Since then, Naomi knew that she wanted to commit to studying the multidisciplinary field of public health. She is passionate about resolving health disparities, specifically as they apply to women’s and environmental health. This summer, Naomi interned with the Planetary Health Alliance at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health where she had the opportunity to work with topics of global environmental health. At Boston College, Naomi is on the E-Board of the American Lung Cancer Screening Initiative (ALCSI), is a campus representative for the Consortium of Universities for Global Health (CUGH), and is involved in the Student Health Equity Forum and CHAARG. After graduating she hopes to take her GPHCG education and extracurricular experiences with her as she pursues a future degree and a career in public health.
