Alissa Kim is a senior majoring in Nursing and minoring in Global Public Health and the Common Good. Born in South Korea, she immigrated to the US at the age of 5 and has resided in California since. She is fluent in Korean, and proficient in Spanish. At BC, she has been involved with Keys to Inclusive Leadership in Nursing, 4Boston and 48 Hours as a retreat leader. She is a member of the Alpha Chi Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau and was an undergraduate research fellow in CSON. She is currently working at Boston Children’s Hospital in the operating room and at the technology desk at O’Neill. She was first introduced to public health with the “Public Health in a Global Society” course and is interested in studying epidemiology, maternal/child and global health. She hopes to pursue a dual degree in nursing and in public health after graduation.
