NEW ORLEANS -- For the first time since 2018, the Eagles have won the Women's National Championship, edging out Yale over the final two races to preserve their winning score of 114.Â
The Eagles and Bulldogs stayed close throughout, with Yale taking the Eastern Semifinal over BC, 115-109. With the final round underway on Wednesday, the Eagles got stronger, with a pair of victories from each division, and 13 combined top-five finishes, seven from Division A and six from B. Coming into the last round of action, the A team earned third in the final three races, and the B team took first and second in two of the final three to clinch the title.Â
The Women's Fleet Race National Title returns to Chestnut Hill for the first time in four years, with
Sophia Reineke earning her second as an Eagle.Â
