Boston College Athletics Announces SOAR Program

BC partners with Athliance and Opendorse to empower student-athletes with name, image and likeness opportunities

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College Athletics announced the launch of SOAR, a comprehensive program designed to assist BC's student-athletes with name, image, and likeness (NIL) opportunities. SOAR focuses on brand cultivation, compliance, education and support.

"The SOAR program will give our student-athletes all the tools to help them reach their full potential in regards to building their brand and maximizing their opportunities in the NIL space," said William V. Campbell Director of Athletics Pat Kraft. "Being in a world-class city like Boston presents so many unique opportunities for our student-athletes to take advantage of, and provides them with the education and support to thrive in this new marketplace."

Boston College is partnering with Athliance and Opendorse on this all-encompassing program for student-athletes. BC's student-athletes will have access to Athliance, which will allow them to disclose and track NIL opportunities through their app.

The SOAR program also places a premium on personalized brand cultivation through Opendorse. BC's student-athletes have the ability to enhance their personal brand with content generated by BC's Athletics Communications Office throughout the year.

BC's student-athletes will also take part in educational opportunities as part of the SOAR program, aimed at better educating them on NIL-related topics such as best practices in the social media and branding spaces, entrepreneurship, personal finance and contract law.

"This new partnership is in the best interest of our student-athletes," said Kraft. "We are excited for the promise it holds for them in the coming years."
