Irish Institute of Boston College Announces 2026–2027 Emerging Scholar Program

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. The Irish Institute of Boston College is delighted to announce a call for applications for the 2026/2027 Irish Institute Emerging Scholars Program. The program is an exciting academic and professional development opportunity for a student of any discipline with a keen interest in Irish politics and US-Irish relations. The position is open to undergraduate students and involves conducting research and providing administrative and creative support for the Institute’s projects, publications and programming. Reflecting on her year as the Irish Institute’s Inaugural Emerging Scholar, Boston College senior Ellie Atkins describes it as one of her most formative experiences: “The mentorship, scholarship, and opportunities granted to me through this program have been invaluable. The Irish Institute’s ability to promote dialogue and engagement between Ireland and the United States, strengthening the transatlantic relationship through thoughtful discussion onpolitics, peacebuilding, and shared democratic values, has amazed me.”
