C21 Easter Series
Since 2002, the Church in the 21st Century Center at Boston College has been a catalyst and resource for the renewal of the Catholic Church in the United States.
Karen Kiefer is the Director of the Church in the 21st Century Center and will host the upcoming Easter Series: Revitalizing Our Church. The programming series will examine the question: How can the Church be a more effective institution and restore its credibility among the Faithful? The conversations will examine this question in depth. Panelists from diverse areas of expertise have been invited to offer their ideas for how the Church can move forward in the hope of Easter.
The first Easter Series conversation will be focused on uncovering ideas from the Catholic press on the revitalization of the Church. Panelists will offer insights and analysis from their experience as editors of leading Catholic publications and multimedia platforms.
The second panel in the Easter series will explore ideas from presidents of Catholic colleges and universities about the Church’s tasks of reform and renewal. The panelists will share insights from their experience leading and governing Catholic institutions of higher education.
The third Easter Series conversation (Professors in the Pews) will be focused on encountering ideas from lay Catholics, who are also Professors here at Boston College, on the revitalization of the Church.
The final panel in the Easter Series will engage the ideas of prominent business men and women who have extensive experience in leadership, management, and governance. The conversation will center around what can be done to restore trust in the institutional Church among the faithful and how the Church can effectively move forward.
