Lyndsey McMahan, MA, MSW, is a Global Social Worker and graduate of the Boston College Graduate School of Social Work, with a Masters degree in Social Innovation + Leadership, with a concentration in Global Practice. She is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Global Governance and Human Security at the McCormack School of Policy and Global Studies at UMass Boston. McMahan has experience working domestically in both child welfare, immigration related to asylum seekers and family homelessness. Her international work includes two years as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Zambia working with rural communities regarding safe health practices; community service activities in Mexico and Turkey; and project development and implementation including program evaluation and data analysis for HelpAge International in Cambodia. Her passions include human security, social justice, and the point at which research, policy and practice intersect.
