John Moynihan, LICSW is an Adjunct Lecturer in the Boston College School of Social Work. He has completed post-graduate psychotherapy training at the Boston Institute for Psychotherapy where he was formerly Director of Group Psychotherapy. He received an appointment as Post-Graduate Fellow at the Victims of Violence Program, Harvard Medical School at Cambridge Hospital and has completed clinical training in substance abuse as a Fellow at Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates. He is a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Psychoanalysis where he is formerly a member of the Board of Directors. John holds a Certificate of Advanced Study in Group Psychotherapy from the Northeast Society of Group Psychotherapists.
He presents on issues pertaining to the mental health care needs of sexual minorities and his clinical interests focus primarily on the intersection of gender and sexuality in the clinical encounter. John has a private practice of psychotherapy, psychoanalysis and supervision in Brookline, MA where he works with individuals, couples and groups.
