Requirements

The East European Studies interdisciplinary minor requires a minimum of six approved one-semester courses (18 credits or more), distributed as follows:

  • 3 credits in either Russian Civilization or Slavic Civilizations 
  • 3 credits in Russian or East European history or politics
  • (6 credits in Russian, Bulgarian, or another East European language at or above the intermediate level
  • 6 credits from related areas such as: philosophy, theology, economics, literature, linguistics or language, political science, history, education, art history or film studies.  One of these electives may be a directed senior research paper on an approved topic.
